On the 6th of January at 8:30 in the morning our school bus left for our journey to Ural. It was pretty quiet on the bus: some children were napping, others were chatting, some of us were looking out of the windows. It was 8 of us and our caretaker. We were passing Ekaterinburg, small villages, sinking in the snow. Some times we were passing forest all covered with the snow. It took us about 2 hours to get to Deer Springs Nature Park.

We unpacked, brought our things inside the tent and the house. In the tent we lit up the furnace, it became a lot warmer. As we were given warm woolen boots we decided to jump off the garage roof into the piles of snow. We had a lot of fun.

At lunch we had noodles and tea. We enjoyed beautiful winter forest around us. After lunch we went to Karskij Bridge over Serga river. It was a natural land bride that froze into the river. There were several more rock formations close by. It was a very unusual and beautiful scene. We came down off the bridge and entered into the cave. We were amazed by the huge icicles hanging of the ceiling of the cave. We took several pictures. We started our way back, our boots covered with ice became very slippery but it was even more fun. We were laughing as we walked back knocking snow off the trees. We came home, put our clothes to dry, watched a little bit of TV and started to get ready for Christmas dinner.

We had cakes and other deserts we did crafts and drew pictures after dinner. We were very tired so the sleep came fast to us. In the morning January 7th after breakfast we went to “Friendship Cave”. On our way we saw “The kind stone”. We were excited to enter the cave and we were not disappointed, the sight was magnificent: icicles and iced stones were sparkling like emeralds; there were crevices 20-40 meters long in the rock floor. Groups of iced stones formed very interesting ornaments. Later we went to the crevices, we climbed down to the bottom. Everything seemed to be made of crystal, the icicles and iced stones sparkled, we couldn’t take our eyes of this beauty. Some time later we returned to our base camp in the forest. For two days we walked a total of 25 km, though we were tired we were happy. There is not another place as beautiful as our Ural Mountains.

In the evening we were waiting for our bus to take us back to the school, but a little adventure happened to it, it could not get to us, it got stuck in the snow. So we spend another night at this beautiful nature park. The next morning two trucks came to pick us up.

We’ll remember this trip for a long time, we brought back home a lot of fun memories. We made new friends there. Ones again we had an opportunity to witness how beautiful and unusual our Ural Mountains are.
