In August 2005 we sponsored our 2nd Russian Orphan camp with the assistance of our partners “Adventure Team”. Sixteen children were allowed to leave the orphanage for a 14 day adventure working side by side with real archeologists who were studying in the region.

Our fund raising efforts through our Petals of Hope Garden tour made this camp possible. Each day the children would spend 3-4 hours working on an actual archeological site with other children from a local school. The children learned about life skills and teamwork. Their afternoons were filled with everyday camp experiences, swimming, games and crafts.

This experience has up lifted the spirits of these children and given them new hopes and dreams for the future. They were allowed to experience life outside the walls of their orphanage, in a family like environment, working, playing and sleeping together.
